Welcome!
This site was created as a place to accumulate philosophical essays, discussions and advice. It is based on the following premises, which the founders believe are not adequately addressed by traditional philosophy, religion or psychology:
People with different personality types approach reality in significantly different ways. Some people are most comfortable focusing on facts, truths and logic, while others focus on metaphors and language as a means of influencing themselves and others to action. As an example, witness the eternal arguments between science and religion.
Philosophy, including morality and ethics, don't address many issues of interest to children growing up and wanting to learn how to interact with the world. Imagine this site as a benevolent, distributed, persistent, growing grandparent.
Children grow up with a perspective of the world and other people that is skewed, not only by their own personality, but by the personality of their mentors. What if they could access information about how other personality types see the world, both as they see it, and as seen by yet other personality types?
The psychology of personality types, as well as astrology, and other older forms of such analysis, could grow, and even more importantly, could become more useful in our lives.
This site will, over time, have lots to say about these topics. Let the above serve merely as a hint and appetizer.
Please contribute your thoughts, after you register.

On Success
|
It is very unlikely that anyone can reliably predict the success of a major venture. If one was to wait around for such certainty, one would almost certainly fail.
Instead, it is important to do what one enjoys, and to do it well, in which case success in some form is almost certain, barring accidents. The movement toward goals and their gradual achievement ought to be the purpose of one's life.
The identification of success in the eye of society is by necessity done in hindsight. It misses the "failure" of similar ventures as seen (or not seen) by society.
Focus on your goals, not the acknowledgement of society.
